PEACH™ at the Tunnel To The Towers Run

New York City, New York - September 28, 2008 - The Tunnel to the Towers Run is an annual event honoring New York Fireman Stephen Siller. Stephen was not on duty that fateful day of September 11, 2001, but upon learning of the terrorist attacks, tried to make his way into the city. He made it as far as the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel before being prohibited from going further. He donned his gear, and with it strapped to his back, ran from the tunnel to the World Trade Center complex where, it is assumed, he went to join his Squad. Stephen and his entire Squad perished. The race retraces the steps Stephen took that day.

The PEACH™ unit was deployed to furnish electricity and air conditioning for the media tent at this year’s event. The picture below shows the PEACH™ in service at the intersection of North End Avenue and Vesey Street in lower Manhattan, one block from the end of the course.
