News & Events PEACH® Unit Demonstrations Held for Officials and Emergency Response Personnel
Three years after the attacks of 9/11, a conversation with New York City officials was the start of a new venture for On Site Manufacturing, Inc. and a new product now known as the PEACH® Unit – “Packaged Electric Air Conditioning and Heating.” This new unit, developed with First Responders in mind, provides heat, air conditioning and backup emergency power to allow emergency response personnel to conduct business in any emergency or disaster situation.
“One Word Says It All,” is the motto for On Site Manufacturing, Inc.’s (OSMI) new product, the PEACH® unit. This new unit has been making its debut in the Midwest and in several Eastern and Southeastern states being displayed in tradeshows and live demonstrations. Recently, the unit was demonstrated for officials and emergency response personnel in various southern regions of Indiana. The unit was also introduced and demonstrated for personnel at Camp Atterbury, just south of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Southern Indiana officials seeing the PEACH® unit up close and personal, were impressed with the idea and design of the unit. Rick McGill, Fire Chief of the North Vernon, Indiana Fire Department stated, “I fell in love with the concept. We’ve dodged the bullet so many times. One of these days a tornado is going to come right down Walnut Street, and life as you know it will cease to exist. A PEACH® unit would allow first responders to carry on business as usual.” Doug Cooke, District 9 Emergency Management Coordinator for Homeland Security, was equally impressed stating, “This is a product that goes right to preparedness. It is a very useful tool.” The PEACH® is designed for your typical responder. "You could send your secretary to deploy this unit,” said Irv French, President and CEO of OSMI.
Demonstrations and tradeshows continue to be on the schedule for the PEACH® unit. Recently, the PEACH® was on display at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, Chicago, Illinois, the Office of Emergency Management Office in NYC, and the State EMS show in Indianapolis, Indiana. Fire Rescue East in Daytona, Florida January 20-22, FDIC in Indianapolis in March 2011, and a demonstration in Atlanta, Georgia later this month are only a few of the upcoming events where the PEACH® is scheduled to be on display.
